Foxes in the hen house?
Foxes have no real predators and now that their pelt prices have stopped being
valuable their numbers are growing! And growing! So doing nothing is not an option!
Fox Eradication
Feral Foxes have no natural predators! So when fur coats became unfashionable and pelts became zero value, their numbers are just growing. And very little is going to get rid of them, so the realistic goal is to keep the population down. As a business we tend to focus of the urban and fringe environs. Baiting around these areas is not really successful due to domestic animals. And trapping has similar challenges. Foxes are cunning and trapping is tough when their is plenty of food around.
Part of the program has to be about their food supply. Improved chook fences, keeping the other wild life such as rabbits, mice etc. down helps to dis-incentify the local foxes. We use the latest technology such as thermal vision, night scopes, infrared spotlights, silenced rifles and more in order to improve our results.
